Cevat Yerli: Warhead will run on £315 PC!

Warhead Crytek’s Head Honcho, Cevat Yerli revealed to German Games Mag, PC Games that their upcoming Crysis spinoff, Crysis: Warhead, will run on high setting on a €400 computer.

There are many possible reasons for this. One is that what was a £600 computer when Crysis came out would cost about £315 now… if you built it yourself. The other is that the graphics resemble something along the lines of Commander Keen. Cevat continues to say that they will finish (patching) Crysis once they have finished Warhead.

Cevat Yerli to PC Games…

“That was our goal and we don’t want the average gamer to be deterred by the idea that they would not be able to play our product. Warhead is a game that everyone can play. All you’ll need is a PC, which costs €400 and you’ll be able to play our game, even on high settings! The game runs at a pretty good frame-rate, about 30-35fps on average. [...] That idea was also partially possibly with the original Crysis[...] It is possible for Crysis to be optimised to the extent which Warhead will be through patches but that will take a long time, because the fixes are fairly complex. We are still in the process of designing these fixes, but first we want to finish Warhead.”

And now, just for you dedicated GoYers out there… we’ve got our very first exclusive! The first ever screenshot of Crysis Warhead!
