March has seen quite a few high-quality releases, with a few more to come before the end of the month. Because of this, you may think that the number of releases may slow down for April. If you think this, you are wrong and should be shot. If you think that there is only one game worth picking up coming out this month then you should also be shot. Not as much as those who think there are no games, but shot nonetheless. The number of released this month may be short but the quality means that April is most definitely a sweet month for gaming this year. There isn’t just one game coming out this month, but there is a game. A highly anticipated game. A game which, if it were released any other time than now would be game of the year, nay, century. Read on as we reveal the cracking line up for April. Read more »

Well, looks like HMV are having another sale (any excuse, right?) and so far it looks better than their January sale (which, to be honest wouldn’t take a whole lot of effort). They have some half decent prices on a few games though at the moment, with Burnout Paradise for PS3 at only £29.99 and Stranglehold for Xbox 360 for £12.99.

You would have thought the much loved friend code system would be enough but Nintendo have revealed that Mario Kart Wii will not only lack voice chat, but also a fully fledged text-chat system.
Instead they have implemented a device where you can communicate via choosing pre-written options from a list, most likely meaning such in depth conversation topics as “Whoa this is fun!” and “I’ll get you back for that!”.
Good news for the Jack Thompsons of the world and bad news for fans of video games. I can only imagine that this decision has been implemented so as to foil the half baked plans of would-be paedophiles.
From what we’ve seen over the past year I wouldn’t place place any bets on Nintendo getting the hang of this internet thing for quite a while.
